The Department of Environmental Health will resume garbage collection at residential and commercial locations as soon as practical after the event. Please listen to the radio or media for updated reports.

The public is encouraged to keep their waste as secure as possible to prevent animals from destroying and scattering it, especially those bins with human waste.

Only put your waste out for collection on the days scheduled for collection in your area.

Remember that service is likely to be delayed and we ask for your patience.

Try to inform the Department of problems you may be having in your area that may affect collection or if collection is not occurring.

Regular schedules may change.

The landfill will be opened to the public as soon as it has been assessed for safety. The public will be able to take their waste directly to the site once it has been cleared.

Care should be taken to properly secure waste during its transportation to prevent littering in the process and for public safety.
