HE the Governor Mr. Stuart Jack Addresses the Country

Most of you will have been following the course of Tropical Storm Ernesto over the last two days.

You will be aware that its track has shifted over recent hours which reduces the risk of a direct hit to the Cayman Islands.

However, as we all know, storm paths and forecasts can change and we should not underestimate any weather pattern of this type, until we are certain it has left our vicinity.

We urge everyone to continue to monitor local and regional weather reports and be ready to complete preparations should conditions change.

For those in the Sister Islands, the Leader of Government Business is currently on Cayman Brac and is assisting with preparations, which are very advanced.

This is important, particularly if the current forecast is maintained projecting tropical storm force conditions for the Sister Islands early Monday morning.

Visitors staying in seaside condos or hotels should heed the advice of managers. At this point, there are no plans for evacuation of visitors.

As you know, we have well defined programmes in place through the National Hurricane Committee's overall strategy. Emergency services are on standby and ready to act.

Please stay tuned to local weather sources as you continue your preparations.
