Met Office Monitors TD #16

Issued Sunday, 28 October, 11:46 am: The National Weather Service (NWS) is monitoring T.D. #16, which formed in the Caribbean last night (Saturday, 27 October). The NWS is keeping the National Hurricane Committee (NHC) advised. All residents should also monitor the system and listen to local media for any advisories that may be issued. At 10 am local time, the storm was located about 220 miles southwest of Santo Domingo and about 145 miles south of Port au Prince, according to the Hurricane Center in Miami. It was moving west-northwest near 6 mph. Maximum sustained winds were near 35 mph. The depression was expected to continue moving to the northwest over the next 24 hours. Next update will be issued as the situation develops.
