Department of Environmental Health officials advise as follows. Grand Cayman - Friday, 7 November

  • Residential and commercial garbage collection scheduled for Friday morning will continue.
  • The George Town landfill will close at 10am Friday.
  • Used oil, lead acid batteries and other hazardous waste should be dropped off at the landfill by 9:00 a.m. latest.
Sister Islands - Saturday, 8 November
  • Garbage collection, scheduled for this Saturday, has been suspended.
  • Both landfills and the Cayman Brac DEH office will also be closed on Saturday.
During the suspension of garbage collection, all Cayman Islands residents are advised to secure uncollected residential waste until the all clear is given. Also, regular household garbage and hurricane debris should be stored separately. Hurricane debris should be further separated into metals, vegetation and construction waste.
