The National Hurricane Center in Miami Florida is issuing advisories on Tropical Storm Richard, which at 10 a.m. was located near 15.9 N 83.5 W or about 272 miles southwest of Grand Cayman. Richard is currently moving west at 8 mph with max sustained winds near 65 mph.

This system poses no immediate threat to the Cayman Islands; however, all interests within the Cayman Islands should continue to monitor the progress of this storm.

The Cayman area can expect continued cloudy skies with widely scattered showers today. Some showers may be locally heavy. Some swells from Richard are expected to affect the south and east coast of the Cayman Islands today. A decrease in cloudiness is expected from Sunday evening as Richard continues to move west away from the Cayman Islands.

The CINWS will continue to monitor the progress of this storm.
