The National Hurricane Center in Miami Florida is issuing advisories on Tropical Storm Richard, which at 4 a.m. was located near 16.0 N 80.3 W or about 238 miles south-southeast of Grand Cayman, 259 miles south of Cayman Brac. Richard is currently stationary with max sustained winds near 40 mph.

This system poses no immediate threat to the Cayman Islands; however, all interest within the Cayman Islands should continue to monitor the progress of this storm.

The Cayman area can expect continued cloudy skies with periods of widely scattered showers and possible thunder. Additionally moderate southeast winds are expected to continue over the next 24 hours. Swells are expected to affect the south and east coast of the Cayman Islands, especially this morning and evening.

The CINWS will continue to monitor the progress of this storm. All interest within the Cayman Islands should continue to monitor the local media for the latest information on this system.
