The National Hurricane Center in Miami Florida is issuing advisories on Tropical Storm Richard, which at 4 p.m. was located near 16.0 N 80.4 W or about 236 miles south-southeast of Grand Cayman, 260 miles south of Cayman Brac. Richard is currently moving towards the south-southeast near 3 mph with maximum sustained winds near 40 mph.

This system poses no immediate threat to the Cayman Islands; however, all interests within the Cayman Islands should continue to monitor the progress of this storm.

The Cayman area can expect continued cloudy skies with periods of widely scattered showers and possible thunder. Additionally fresh southeast winds and rough seas are expected from tomorrow morning. Swells are expected to affect the south and east coasts of the Cayman Islands.

A SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FROM TOMORROW MORNING.

The CINWS will continue to monitor the progress of this storm. All interests within the Cayman Islands should continue to monitor the local media for the latest information on this system.
