The National Hurricane Center in Miami Florida has issued an advisory on Tropical Depression Tomas, which at 4 a.m. was located near 13.5 N 75.5 W or about 325 miles south-southeast of Kingston Jamaica. Tomas is currently moving towards the west-northwest near 5 mph with maximum sustained winds near 35 mph.

THIS STORM POSES NO IMMEDIATE THREAT TO THE CAYMAN ISLANDS. However, all interests within the Cayman Islands should continue to monitor the progress of this storm as the current forecast track continues to move Tomas on a westerly track. Tomas is expected to turn north Friday night as it moves southeast of Jamaica.

The CINWS will continue to monitor the progress of this storm. Weather conditions for the Cayman area can be found on the websites www.weather.ky or www.gov.ky
