At 4 p.m. the National Hurricane Center in Miami Florida issued an advisory on Hurricane Tomas. Hurricane Tomas was located near 14.4 N 64.9 W or about 265 miles W of St. Lucia or 290 miles SSE of San Juan, Puerto Rico. Tomas is currently moving towards the west near 12 mph with max sustained winds near 75 mph.

This storm poses no immediate threat to the Cayman Islands; however, all interest within the Cayman Islands should continue to monitor the progress of this storm as current forecast track places hurricane Tomas over the south coast of Haiti and E of Jamaica late Thursday night.
