Tropical Storm Ernesto 4:00 PM Advisory

The National Hurricane Center, in Miami Florida, continues to issue advisories on Tropical Storm Ernesto. At 4 p.m. today, Ernesto was located near 13.9 N. 64.1 W. or about 210 miles west of St. Lucia. Presently, Ernesto is moving towards the west near 21 mph with maximum sustained winds near 50 mph.

The latest track forecast carries the storm southwest of Grand Cayman with tropical storm force winds brushing the island.

The closest point of approach will be 123 miles on 11 p.m. Monday night.

The Core Group of the National Hazard Management Council will meet at around 4.30 p.m. on Sunday afternoon and at that time a decision will be made regarding whether or not Government offices will be open on Monday. Following the meeting, the decision will then be communicated through Radio Cayman and other media sources and also posted on the Cayman Prepared website.
