TROPICAL STORM RAFAEL FALLS WITHIN THE CAYMAN ISLANDS WATCH AREA.

The National Hurricane Center, in Miami is issuing advisories on Tropical Storm Rafael.

At 10 a.m. T.S. Rafael was located near 15.9 N 64.1 W or about 135 south southeast of St. Croix, or about 1161/1065 miles ESE of the Cayman Islands.  Rafael is moving north northwest at 9 mph with maximum sustained wind near 40 mph. At the same time the remnants of Patty was located near 24.8 N, 72.6 W or about 220 miles east-northeast of the Central Bahamas. The remnants of Patty is moving west-southwest at 5 mph with maximum sustained winds of 30 mph.

THESE STORMS POSE NO THREAT TO THE CAYMAN ISLANDS.

Moderate to fresh northeasterly winds and seas will continue across the Cayman area for the next 24 hours as the associated high pressure system continues to dominate the eastern US.
