T.S. Isaac slightly stronger and heading towards Haiti

The National Hurricane Center in Miami Florida, is issuing advisories on Tropical Storm Isaac. At 4 p.m. Tropical Storm Isaac was located near 17.2 N. 71.9 W. or about 100 miles south southeast of Port au Prince Haiti. Isaac is moving towards the northwest at 14 mph with maximum sustained winds of 65 mph. Minimum central pressure is 994 MB. Storm force winds extend outwards up to 185 miles.

Tropical Storm Isaac does not pose an imminent threat to the Cayman Islands.

Showers and cloudiness are expected over the Cayman area from late this evening as the outer bands of Tropical Storm Isaac move into the Northwest Caribbean.

THE FORECAST:

 Tonight: Cloudy skies with a 40% chance of showers and some thunder.

Winds will be east to northeast 15 to 20 knots.

Seas will be rough with wave heights of 4 to 6 feet. A small craft advisory is in effect.

Saturday: Winds will be northeast 15 to 20 knots with higher gusts. A small craft advisory will be in effect.
