Tropical Storm Hanna
Published 27th October 2014, 9:19am
Tropical Storm Hanna forms over the northwestern Caribbean Sea.
The small low pressure system, the remnants of Tropical Depression Nine, has now been upgraded to Tropical Storm Hanna by the National Hurricane Center in Miami. T.S. Hanna is producing a concentrated area of thunderstorms along the coasts of northern Nicaragua and eastern Honduras. The system has continued to become better organized, and satellite-derived wind data overnight indicates that this system has tropical-storm-force winds on the west side of the circulation.
This storm poses no immediate threat to the Cayman Islands; however residents should continue to monitor the progress of the storm due to the stormís location.
