A tropical wave moving across the Caribbean could influence the weather in the Cayman Islands beginning on Wednesday and continuing through Friday. This disturbance is expected to produce periods of locally heavy rainfall and gusty winds. A large amount of dry air is inhibiting development of the wave, so additional strengthening of the system is unlikely while it moves west across the Caribbean Sea.
Kerry Powery, Chief Meteorologist with the Cayman Islands National Weather Service has forecast winds between 10 to 15 knots, with stronger gusts around heavier rain showers and moderate to rough seas associated with the disturbance.
