At 4 pm, Tropical Storm Harvey was located at 13.4N 62.9W about 130 Miles SSE of San Juan, Puerto Rico. Present movement is west at 21 mph with maximum sustained winds of 40 mph.
ON THE CURRENT FORECAST TRACK, TROPICAL STORM HARVEY WILL PASS ABOUT 280 MILES SOUTH OF GRAND CAYMAN BY MONDAY MORNING. WITH THE FORECAST ANTICIPATING THE STORM WILL PASS CLOSE TO 300 MILES AWAY FROM THE CAYMAN ISLANDS IT IS CONSIDERED UNLIKELY THAT THE CAYMAN ISLANDS WILL EXPERIENCE STORM FORCE WINDS, HOWEVER THE CAYMAN ISLANDS NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE AND HAZARD MANAGEMENT CAYMAN ISLANDS WILL CONTINUE TO MONITOR THE PROGRESS OF THE STORM, AND RESIDENTS SHOULD REMAIN VIGILANT AND PREPARED, ESPECIALLY AS WE ENTER THE HISTORICALLY MORE ACTIVE PHASE OF THE HURRICANE SEASON.
