Tropical Storm Harvey
Published 18th August 2017, 11:11am
At 10 am Friday August 18th, computer models remain in close agreement that the centre of Tropical Storm Harvey should pass well south of the Cayman Islands. At the present time forecasters expect Harvey to reach peak intensity below hurricane force strength.
The structure of the storm has changed little during the past several hours, and overall the storm is poorly organized due to the effects of 15 knots of vertical wind shear.
Despite the current forecast indicating that Tropical Storm Harvey poses a minimal threat to the Cayman Islands, residents should continue to monitor this system and maintain high levels of personal and family hurricane preparedness.
