Low Pressure System South of Cayman

Disorganized showers and thunderstorms over the central and southwestern Caribbean Sea are associated with a broad area of low pressure. Some slow development of this system is possible this weekend while the low drifts across the northwestern Caribbean Sea.
The Cayman Islands National Weather Service is forecasting increasing likelihood of rainy conditions as we approach the weekend, with the Saturday forecast currently calling for cloudy to overcast skies with a 70% chance of showers and some thunder. Showers may become locally heavy at times.
Formation chance of this low pressure system through 48 hours is regarded as low (near 0 percent), however the chances of formation over the next 5 days is currently set at 30 percent.
