Located 354 miles WNW of Grand Cayman (Latitude 19.7 North, Longitude 86.8 West) moving NNW at 6 mph with maximum sustained winds of 40 mph.
While the forecast path of Subtropical Storm Alberto is away from the Islands, residents are encouraged to monitor the progress of this system as it expected to influence local weather conditions from this weekend into early next week.
Cloudy to overcast skies along with scattered showers and thunder activity is expected mainly for Grand Cayman today. Showers may become locally heavy at times leading to flooding of low lying areas.
Flooding of low lying areas, fresh winds and rough seas are also expected over the next 24 hours. Small marine vessels should exercise caution over open waters.
