Looking Disorganised

Published 13th September 2018, 10:22am

At 10 am, the centre of Tropical Storm Isaac was located near latitude 14.9 North, longitude 61.8 West. Isaac is moving west near 17 mph with maximum sustained winds of 45 mph. The Tropical Storm has now moved into the eastern Caribbean Sea.

The storm continues to battle strong wind shear and is poorly organized, some models suggest that Isaac will degenerate into an open tropical wave, however the environment becomes gradually more conducive for development as the system tracks west. At the present time the computer models are not consistent on whether Isaac will survive as a tropical cyclone and / or if it will reorganize as it tracks closer to the Cayman Islands. Residents should continue to monitor and maintain high levels of preparedness.
