Tropical Storm Marco is moving away from Cayman Islands leading to a decrease in rain and cloudiness in our area.

Tropical Storm Laura has now entered the Caribbean Sea and is currently located near Puerto Rico. Laura is moving west at 18 mph and a gradual west northwestward motion is expected over the next few days.

Computer models currently have TS Laura moving across the Island of Hispaniola tonight and then over eastern Cuba on Sunday. Interactions with the landmasses on the these Islands is expected to limit strengthening.

On the current forecast track and guidance issued by the National Hurricane Center, Laura is expected to pass North of the Cayman Islands and is unlikely to pose a significant threat to these Islands. The Cayman Islands National Weather Service is forecasting that TS Laura will influence our weather with an increase in showers for the Cayman Islands starting Sunday night.

Residents should continue to monitor the progress of Tropical Storm Laura.
